Notes

Short updates from what I worked on each day. The fix, the gotcha, the thing that worked. Longer pieces live in Writing.

September 2026

  1. Sep 29

Cloudtape is on the App Store now, and I'm getting the Android version ready for Google Play. Same idea on both: your own music files, offline first, nothing recommending you anything.

  2. Sep 29

My site has a notes page now: a daily feed of short updates on what I'm building, with tags and search. It writes a first draft from my day's work, and I decide what goes live.

  3. Sep 27

Cloudtape 1.0 is live on the App Store and the first update is already in review. There's a small sample library built in, so you can try it before connecting Dropbox.

  4. Sep 24

Started a moodboard tool for doing design work with Claude. We pin references and write a brief together, and it checks it actually gets the look before designing anything.

  5. Sep 24

Built a listening history page for Release Wave: upload your Spotify export and see years of listening laid out, with Last.fm plays merged in.

  6. Sep 23

Wrote about getting Claude to lay out a cookbook in Affinity. Most of the layout is scripted. The agent only clicks through the few steps that can't be.

  7. Sep 22

Cloudtape works in CarPlay. You can browse albums and artists from the dash, and it took about a day.

  8. Sep 19

One agent split three Cloudtape features across three helpers working side by side: lyrics, volume levelling and a sleep timer. All three merged cleanly.

  9. Sep 18

Cloudtape scrobbles to Last.fm now, even offline. Plays queue up and send later, and you can take back a scrobble you didn't mean.

  10. Sep 17

I run agent sessions on three Macs now. A handoff command writes a brief, starts a session on another machine, and checks that it picked up where I left off.

  11. Sep 17

Cloudtape plays albums without a gap between tracks now. Live records and mixes finally sound the way they should.

  12. Sep 14

Watched the finished parody infomercial for Myne and hated it. Then I noticed almost every ad idea I had was the same parody joke. Starting over with straight-faced hooks.

  13. Sep 11

Cloudtape is in TestFlight. Music already on the phone sits in the same library as the Dropbox stuff, so an album doesn't show up twice.

  14. Sep 10

New project: Cloudtape, a music player for my own files. It syncs from Dropbox, plays offline, and looks more like a shelf of old jazz sleeves than a streaming app.

August 2026

  1. Aug 14

Been making AI video ads for Myne for a few weeks: real app footage cut with absurd generated scenes. I look over every storyboard on a review page before any video gets rendered.

  2. Aug 12

Asked for a leaderboard of the best Myne collections. The agent pushed back: rankings get gamed, and nobody wants a map of whose house has the good stuff. Shipped a calm browse page instead.

  3. Aug 3

RevCogs users can show off their record collection on a public page now. It's opt-in. An audit caught that my first version had it switched on by default.

July 2026

  1. Jul 30

Feedback on RevCogs now kicks off an agent. It tries a fix on a branch and drafts a reply for me to read. The first run turned one request straight into a shipped feature.

  2. Jul 29

Collections landed in Myne: group your stuff by type, like tees, cards or vinyl, and share each one as its own page. Research to shipped build took about two days of agent swarms.

  3. Jul 24

Swapped a heavy self-hosted social scheduler for a tiny one I wrote. It only ever had to post reels for one account, and it was eating a big chunk of the Mac mini's memory.

  4. Jul 24

Before a Myne release ships, an agent now builds the real app, runs it in a simulator, and sends me screenshots before I hit release.

  5. Jul 22

Wrote up my home agent setup in three posts: the nightly repo agent, the memory service, and letting an agent drive the browser I'm already signed into.

  6. Jul 21

The band tee app is in TestFlight. Snap a photo and it guesses the shirt. The bulk-add screen took six versions before adding a stack of shirts felt quick.

  7. Jul 20

Wrote a Claude Code skill for letting one strong model plan the work and hand it out to a team of helper agents. Its first job planned a whole photo-cropping feature in waves.

  8. Jul 16

New side project: an app for collecting band tees. The idea is a crowd-built catalog of every design and printing, so bootlegs stay separate from the real thing.

  9. Jul 16

Made a little feedback tool for design reviews. A reviewer clicks any part of the page and leaves a note, then an agent picks it up, fixes it and marks it done.

  10. Jul 16

Release Wave has a public page of upcoming releases now, with filters and a player that starts a preview in one click. It's the raw list before we pick favourites.

  11. Jul 13

Release Wave now goes looking for new music every night across a dozen sources and drops the promising stuff into a playlist. Curating is back to just listening.

  12. Jul 12

I'm juggling five projects with a handful of agent sessions each and kept losing my place. Started a small personal memory service: I toss notes in, ask questions later, get answers with sources.

  13. Jul 9

Myne works properly offline now. Add things in a basement with no signal and they show up everywhere once you're back online, with no duplicates.

  14. Jul 8

Myne can scan a barcode now. Point it at a book, a LEGO box or a game and the add form fills itself in.

  15. Jul 8

Release Wave makes its own short videos now. New releases get cut into vertical reels, grouped by scene, and scheduled out a few times a week without me touching them.

  16. Jul 6

A nightly agent now reads every one of my repos and rewrites the notes that tell other agents how each project works. It commits the changes and sends me a summary before I'm up.

  17. Jul 3

Left an agent looping on RevCogs overnight with a list of things to review. Woke up to twenty small polish commits: cleaner type, proper mobile layouts, bigger tap targets.

  18. Jul 2

Built one small notifier for all my projects. Deploys, app builds and long jobs all ping my phone now, with a link to the real live site instead of some preview.

  19. Jul 2

The Mac mini in the closet is where my agents live now. I name a repo in a chat message from my phone and a fresh Claude Code session starts working on it.

  20. Jul 1

Myne lets you make items public now and share one link to a gallery of them. It started as a mock screen and turned into the feature I show people first.

June 2026

  1. Jun 30

Release Wave has a new kind of post: staff picks of older albums we've gone back to. Each one expires on its own, so the homepage stays fresh without anyone cleaning up.

  2. Jun 30

Redesigned my site from scratch and finally gave it a blog. The first posts are about running a pile of coding agents at once and what I took away from an AI conference.
